Sarah Spiegel, Saks Fifth Ave.

My fellow Fashionistas/ Fashionistos,

My name is Sarah Spiegel and I’m an upcoming sophomore at South Carolina! I am currently interning at the wonderful Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Though I am a Fashion Merchandising major, I am a Public Relations intern for Saks. Even though this is not the department I am majoring in, I am absolutely LOVING my experience! (And it really never hurts to get your foot in the door at a place like Saks)
Since I started working for Saks, I met my new boyfriend, Microsoft Excel. Over the past month, we have become really serious about each other. We spend multiple hours together every day and I have really learned so much about him. We typically start the day by updating a couple press recaps of special events that Saks was involved in, but the real romance begins in the late afternoon when we calculate how much it would cost for Saks to place advertisements on various websites. Sometimes I have to excuse myself to the break room when things get too intense! Am I the luckiest girl in the world or what?!
On another note, when Saks hosts special events, I get to help out! My first week at Saks, Kylie Minogue (singer of Locomotion) came to the store to do a book signing. I helped to check in Press, escort VIPs to a designated VIP area, and just made sure the event ran smoothly. Additionally, I was there for the grand opening of the Christian Louboutin shop on the shoe floor in the store! Christian Louboutin made a special guest appearance and gave a little speech for the employees and associates. I know you are probably wondering how I could possibly make it through meeting Christian Louboutin when I could have spent that time making more spreadsheets with my boyfriend, but sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.
Here's a shot of Christian Louboutin himself!

All jokes aside, I am truly loving my experience at Saks. I am working with the most wonderful people and I am learning so much about the retailing world. Getting to live in New York City is not so bad either! I cannot wait to see what the second half of my summer has in store. Bye for now!

Fashionably yours,
Sarah Spiegel

  1. Yes, yes you are the luckiest girl in the world!! What a wonderful experience to live & work in NYC for your internship over the summer... especially at a store of Saks stature! One word of advice, don't come home and say... I wish I would have done - this or that. Use all of your leisure time available to see & do everything that you can. There's no place like NYC so, drink it in!!

So, which pair of Louboutin's did you get!?!
